CHRISTUS Health Industrial Engineer

At CHRISTUS Health, I supported the enterprise-wide transition from Meditech to Epic EHR—a rollout that introduced workflow changes across nursing, registration, and scheduling. Acting as a bridge between frontline staff and executive leadership, I conducted user interviews and process mapping to identify workflow friction points, then collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure systems in alignment with departmental KPIs and organizational OKRs. The work required balancing competing priorities, adapting to real-time feedback, and translating insights into actionable, cross-departmental improvements—a product mindset, in a clinical setting.

*Also, I had the fun opportunity of recruiting students at Virginia Tech (my alma mater, go Hokies!) 🦃

McCarthy Building Companies Project Intern

As part of a startup-style subsurface utility mapping team, I piloted emerging geospatial technologies—including LiDAR, cloud-based GIS, and ground-penetrating radar (GPR)—to produce risk reports for government clients. Our team operated in Agile-inspired sprints, iterating on field workflows and delivering 5 reports that contributed to $2M+ in projected construction cost avoidance. This experience sparked my interest in blending emerging tech with user needs, while reinforcing the value of quick iteration, cross-functional feedback loops, and outcome-oriented thinking.

McCarthy Building Companies Project Intern

Prior to joining McCarthy’s utility mapping team, I led a 35-person project team—spanning architecture, engineering, and trade technicians—on a $15.6M emergency department build. Working in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment taught me how to keep people aligned under pressure, manage ambiguity in real time, and prioritize what matters most. I used tools like Procore, BIM, and BlueBeam to streamline design execution and improve project delivery.

RG Electric Company Construction Laborer

Before I had even heard of product management, I worked as a laborer for RG Electric—digging trenches, hauling materials, and learning from experienced tradespeople on active construction sites. I took time off college to do this work because I knew I couldn’t lead effectively without understanding the day-to-day reality of the people I hoped to support.

That time taught me how to work alongside people from all backgrounds, communicate across roles, and contribute without ego. It also gave me an appreciation for the complexity of frontline work—and how often systems overlook it.

This experience laid the foundation for how I approach product today: with empathy, clear communication, and a focus on creating solutions that respect the people who use them.
